A truly wonderful evening is planned with York-based baker and former Great British Bake Off contestant Freya Cox joining Gilly to offer you a taste of her new book Bake My Day prior to its official launch!
During this special evening Freya will share and demonstrate three recipes from her new book. Expect insights into her baking journey and her passion for making plant-based baking accessible, imaginative and, above all, delicious. This is a must-book event!
If there is one word to describe Bake My Day, it is whimsical. Full of colour, personality and Freya’s unmistakable down-to-earth charm, the book is a celebration of baking for every occasion – from the traditional celebrations to life’s more unexpected moments. Whether it is a Father's Day fajita focaccia, tiramisu brownies for date night or a bake created especially to celebrate a new job, a divorce or even a dog’s birthday, Freya has created her plant-based recipes to bring a little more joy to everyday life.
The ticket cost includes a glass of fizz to enjoy during the event, and Kemps Bookstore, based in Malton, will also be on hand with signed copies of Bake My Day available to purchase on the evening – making the event a particularly special opportunity for Yorkshire food lovers to meet Freya and get their hands on the new book before it officially hits the shelves. Drinks may also be purchased on the evening.
About Freya...York-based Freya Cox shot to fame aged just 19 when she appeared on The Great British Bake Off in 2021, becoming the show's first ever vegan contestant.
Her appearance marked the beginning of a remarkable creative career. Since then, Freya has published her first cookbook, built a social media following of more than 120,000, launched her own delivery bake business, Freya’s, and now returns with her highly anticipated second book.
Through her work, Freya continues to champion plant-based baking and demonstrate that it can be every bit as indulgent, creative and exciting as traditional baking.
